Founded in 2016 by Sebastian Day, and joined soon after by John Tunnell, Maven was built on a simple belief: that the best results in opaque markets come from sharp thinking, deep relationships, and disciplined execution. Over the years, that belief has evolved into a unique operating model — one that blends high-trust broking with high-context market intelligence, all grounded in decades of fuel oil expertise.

From projective data modelling to high-volume cargo placement, we combine market intuition with clean, validated information to help our clients act with confidence.

Today, Maven is structured around two core service arms:

• Maven Knowledge — our market-leading fuel oil intelligence product, known for its projective insight, dark fleet coverage, and human-led accuracy

• Maven Brokers — our strategic broking and consultancy service, covering crude and fuel oil cargoes, tanker placements, and industry-specific advisory
